In addition to the 9 group sessions, you will have one private mentorship session with Alicia to discuss your unique talents and next steps in this work.
You will also engage in curated homework between sessions to deepen your perinatal knowledge, hone your postpartum recipe and chef skills and create the practical tools to get your business up and running upon completion of the course.
-
Classes will include lecture with visually engaging slideshows, guided movement, community building and time for Q&A.
Each of the nine sessions will be broken down into two parts:
One part of each class will focus on how to meet the needs of the postpartum family.
The second part will focus on your needs as a person doing this work, because this is equally important. This will include both business development and chef-self care practices.
-
While much of this content has been designed with postpartum doulas in mind, all that is required for this training is that you have confidence in your cooking skills and some familiarity with pregnancy and postpartum. You do not need to be an existing perinatal professional to join. Private chefs, care-workers, baby-nannies and anyone with a passion for this work can join.
Please note however that while recipes will be shared and nutrition will be discussed, these sessions are not cooking classes.
-
Level I graduates have the option to join an ongoing mentorship program with Alicia. This ongoing monthly circle provides real-time support for those starting their postpartum chef business, an in-depth look at case studies and real life circumstances that arise, as well as community support.
