Alicia allison is a PRENATAL & postpartum CHEF AND DOULA WITH 15 YEARS of experience IN THE HEALING ARTS.

Pregnancy & the postpartum period are times of incredible transformation and growth, times periods in which we need to be deeply nurtured and supported.

My approach to birth work is truly holistic.  I am a doula, a prenatal & postpartum chef, a certified lactation counselor (CLC), a trained western herbalist and a yoga teacher of many years. Supporting families is truly my passion and my calling.

There's nothing more nourishing then the smell of home-cooked food filling a house, especially in the early days postpartum.  Healthy food is grounding and key for recovery and long term healing after birth. 

I bring my background in Ayurveda and my love of whole, organic and farm-fresh foods to the table providing families with warm nourishing meals that are healthy, easy to digest and delicious.

Postpartum Doula & LACTATION COUNSELOR

As a DONA International trained postpartum doula and a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) with the ALPP, I offer guidance and practical support in breastfeeding, newborn care and family wellness. I also offer guidance on postnatal yoga and calming breathing practices and therapeutic bodywork inspired by Ayurvedic postpartum traditions. 

 

PRENATAL & POSTNATAL YOGA

Regular yoga practice throughout pregnancy can ease prenatal tension, increase circulation to the whole body and build strength and confidence as you prepare for birth.  Postpartum yoga can help to rebuild core and pelvic integrity and releases shoulder and neck tension.  Restorative poses and pranayama provide energy and time for processing and rejuvenation.  

Private sessions available in the comfit of you home. 

Alicia's teaches several weekly drop-in prenatal yoga classes at Juniper Healing Arts in Brooklyn where she is a senior prenatal teacher.
