Making, growing, birthing and then caring for newborn babies is extremely physical and deeply sacred. It is journey that ushers in deep transformation and a time period when all people need to be nurtured and supported.

I am a postpartum chef and doula, a certified lactation counselor (CLC), a trained western herbalist and a yoga teacher of many years. I am proud to say I have now supported over 80 families through the sacred first forty days postpartum, and many others through pregnancy and the entire first year postpartum including supermodel mother and body-positivity activist Ashley Graham .

I am passionate about supporting all types of families and truly feel honored to be able to work with every family I support.

In-person support for individuals + families

Supporting families and people who give birth with healing foods has been the centerpiece of my practice for the past ten years. There's nothing more nourishing then the smell of home-cooked food filling a house, especially in the early days postpartum. Healthy food is grounding and key for recovery and long term healing after birth. I bring my background in whole foods nutrition, herbalism and Ayurveda and my love of whole, organic and farm-fresh foods to the table providing families with warm nourishing meals that are healthy, easy to digest and delicious.  

As a DONA International trained postpartum doula and a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) with the ALPP, I offer guidance and practical support in newborn feeding, newborn care and family wellness. Feeding a newborn is one of the most beautiful aspects of the postpartum period and it certainly can also be the most challenging and emotionally overwhelming. Helping new families prepare for and navigate this moment is one of my greatest passions.

I also offer guidance on postnatal yoga and movement, breathing practices, birth processing and therapeutic bodywork inspired by Ayurvedic postpartum traditions for the postpartum period.

Some of my favorite postpartum dishes to prepare include: 

  • Carrot Ginger Soup with Coconut & Cilantro,

  • Lemongrass & Ginger Beef Stew 

  • Warm Rice Pudding with Cardamom, Cinnamon & Ghee 

  • Yellow Split Peas with Ginger, Garlic, Turmeric & Coconut

  • Risotto with fresh Shitake and Maitake Mushrooms

 
 

NUTRITIONAL & HERBAL COUNSELING

Virtual Support for all trimesters, lactation + preconception

I offer virtual one-one nutritional support and education for those preparing for conception, currently growing a new babe, recovering from birth and navigating body changes in the first year postpartum.

Eating well throughout the perinatal period is crucial for your body’s strength and recovery as well as for you baby’s development. 

That said I strongly believe eating should not become a source of stress during this already intense time! To that end, I help you balance out your nutritional needs and navigate food aversions throughout the months in a supportive and collaborative way. Instead of ridged protocols and restrictions, I focus on finding nutrient-dense additions to your diet based on your body’s needs, the foods you love and the demands of your day-to-day life.

EMBODIMENT + INNER-WORK SESSIONS

Private sessions that are a the culmination of my life’s work. Sessions include work with breath, yoga asana, intuitive movement, nervous system education and regulation, guided rest, inner-child work and nonjudgemental and objective conversation.

  • Pregnancy Especially beautiful during the first trimester when you often are not sharing your news with many people

  • Those not having a baby Because we also may need support during the process of choosing to not have a baby or when surrendering this want when life has other plans for us


PRENATAL + POSTNATAL YOGA

Regular yoga practice throughout pregnancy eases prenatal tension, increases circulation to the whole body and builds strength and confidence as you prepare for birth. Postpartum yoga can help to rebuild core and pelvic integrity and releases shoulder and neck tension.  Restorative poses and pranayama provide energy and time for processing and rejuvenation.
